When Taylor walked the red carpet at the 2012 Grammy awards one thing was noticeably missing — her bangs! But have no fear, the new addition to her ‘do popped up later during her performance.

Taylor Swift initially wore her hair up in a slicked back bun. Her bangs were pulled back so flawlessly that you would think the singer never had bangs at all. That changed when Taylor hit the stage to perform her song “Mean” with a totally new look. Taylor’s slick bun turned into a loose braid with her bangs firmly in place.

Taylor famously acquired bangs for her Vogue cover spread and as she walked on stage showing off her second look of the night, Vogue beauty director Sarah Brown Tweeted: “Taylor. The bangs are back. Excellent.”
