The competition was ruff, but Malachy put his best paw forward and totally dogged his enemies.
The annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is one of the fiercest, furriest competitions around — and it just got a new champion. A four-year-old Pekingnese named Malachy was named top dog Feb. 14 in New York, making him the first of his breed to win the competition since 1990.
So what was the key to Malachy’s success? Dignity, apparently.
“He doesn’t run,” his handler David Fitzpatrick tells the Associated Press. “He has a dignified Pekingese gait.”
Seriously, why can’t the Olympics be this adorable? I’d watch.

Congrats Malachy! Malachy is so precious! He looks like a winner. He reminds me of my shih tzu Booker.
