A young woman’s selfless act about organ donations is inspiring thousands across the United States and Canada to put their name on the list, thanks to endorsements from Jusitn Bieber & Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres surprised Helene Campbell, a girl in need of a double-lung transplant, on her talk show Thursday via Skype to help spread the word about becoming a organ donor. “Mom, turn up my air,” Helene gasped as Ellen surprised her on screen.

“You’re actually not sending this out to help yourself… but you want to help others,” Ellen told Helene about the video she sent.

Helene was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in October 2011. IPF causes the lungs to become scarred and stiffened, but there is no known reason why people contract the disease, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine.

Justin Bieber responded to a tweet Helene sent him in January asking him to tweet a message to his followers to become organ donors. Justin did and it led to more than 2,000 people signing up for organ donation.
