Nina Dobrev (born Nina Constantinova Dobreva in Sofia, Bulgaria on January 9, 1989) is a Bulgarian-Canadian actress best known for her role on The CW's The Vampire Diaries. An avid gymnastics and yoga enthusiast, Nina was a model and actress in Canada (she starred on Degrassi: The Next Generation) before landing the lead role on The Vampire Diaries in 2009, where she began a real-life romance with co-star Ian Somerhalder.
