‘Saturday Night Live’ Disses Chris Brown In Football Skit — Mocked For Assault – Hollywood Life

‘Saturday Night Live’ Disses Chris Brown In Football Skit

Chris just can't catch a break. The 'New Flame' singer was the target of a pretty harsh joke, relating to his 2009 assault on Rihanna, during the 40th season premiere of 'SNL' on Sept. 27. The 40th season premiere of Saturday Night Live took a lot of opportunities to poke fun at the NFL's recent domestic violence scandal, but they may have taken things a bit too far when they looped Chris Brown into the mix by mocking him for his 2009 assault on Rihanna during a football skit on Sept. 27.

‘Saturday Night Live’ Disses Chris Brown

The skit began with “Jim Nantz” and “Phil Simms” introducing players from the Baltimore Ravens and the Carolina Panthers.

These fictitious players faced the camera and stated their names before mentioning what crime they’ve committed.

At the end, “Jim” and “Phil” told viewers to come back for the halftime show, when Chris Brown would be performing.

In case you didn’t pick up on it, the show was clearly making fun of Chris because of his history with assault, assuming he’d be the perfect performer for a game full of criminal players.

We don’t think this “joke” was fair at all!

It’s been five years since Chris assaulted Rihanna, and he’s changed tremendously since then. He’s even still going to therapy! Isn’t it time to give Chris a break?

Rihanna’s Song Pulled From ‘Thursday Night Football’

If you recall, Chris had another unfortunate connection with the NFL’s domestic violence scandal. On Sept. 11, CBS pulled Rihanna‘s song from Thursday Night Football.

Following the video release by TMZ of former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice knocking his then-fiancée out, the network decided to yank an intro, featuring Rihanna singing Jay Z‘s “Run This Town.” Apparently, they felt her connection with domestic abuse (i.e. Chris Brown’s assault on her in 2009) hit too close to home.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Was it fair for SNL to diss Chris Brown?
