‘American Idol’ Recap: Did Jim Carrey’s Daughter Make It Through Hollywood Week?

What did you think of Jane Carrey's shaky performance during Hollywood Week?

We fell in love with Jim Carrey's daughter, Jane, when she auditioned in San Diego and had big hopes for her in Hollywood Week. "My expectations of this week are that I'm going to stay here. I will be here the entire week, so get used to me!" the 24-year-old waitress and single mom joked before her audition. Sadly, Jane choked on stage and wasn't the same confident girl we saw during her first audition. Her face looked mortified as she finished her song and she tried to save herself with a cute smile. Unfortunately, it didn't work and she was turned away. We're bummed Hollywood Week didn't go well for Jane. We would have loved to see more of her...and maybe even a cameo by her dad later in the season! Do you think she should have made it through? [polldaddy

The season premiere of 'The Voice' beat 'American Idol' and totally clobbered 'The X Factor' in the ratings. Here's why I think this next-generation singing competition is the new "IT" reality show!

Right after the Super Bowl on Feb. 5, the second season of The Voice debuted to a massive 37.6 million viewers — nearly double American Idol's season premiere audience of 21.6 million! Sure, The Voice premiered after THE-most-epic-and-watched event in TV history -- but that's not the only reason why the reality series is attracting a slew of new fans. While last night's Feb. 6th episode drew a more modest 17.7 million viewers, that's still WAY up from last season's series premiere audience of 11.8 million -- and I for one couldn't be happier! Check out why I think The Voice is gonna be a slam dunk this season! First of all, it's all about the contestants. Heralded as a singing competition that puts vocal ability ahead of sex appeal, The Voice attracts people from all walks of life. The final season 11 auditions brought out amazing talent and the judges were blown away by Lauren Gray, were YOU?

The judges thought Lauren Gray had one of the best female voices they'd heard so far in American Idol season 11 and definitely in St. Louis, which was the last town of auditions before Hollywood week. Lauren, 22, sings with her dad in a band and helps out with the family wedding planning business in Arkansas. Although we thought she had a cute story and a pretty good voice, her rendition of Adele's "One and Only" was a little screechy for us. Do YOU think Lauren will make it past Hollywood week? Jessica Phillips has been taking care of her boyfriend since he had a stroke

The American Idol auditions in Portland, Oregon Feb. 1 didn't blow us away, but we were deeply touched by the lovely, Jessica Phillips, and her heart-wrenching story. Jessica's boyfriend had a stroke nearly one year ago that landed him in the hospital for more than a month. When he came to, not only did he not recognize Jessica, but he couldn't speak either. Since then, Jessica, 25, has acted as his caretaker, which she calls a "different kind of love." The upbeat and charismatic singer sang "Again" by Faith Evans and impressed the judges. We enjoyed the performance, but aren't 100% sure she'll get past Hollywood week. What do YOU think? More ‘American Idol’ News

‘American Idol’ Recap: Ramiro Garcia Was Born Without Ears

Can you believe Ramiro Garcia can sing as well as he can? Will he get further than Hollywood week?

We're getting closer and closer to being through with the American Idol auditions (thank goodness!), but one guy in particular caught our attention Jan. 27. Ramiro Garcia was born without ears (well, technically without a left ear and only a right earlobe), so they thought he would be mute and deaf. However, somehow the doctors were able to construct ears for him and now he hears, talks AND sings. "You're a powerful example to say the least and you can sing," Steven Tyler praised him after his version of "Amazing Grace." "I love you said you're used to being the underdog. The last person we expected to see auditioning on American Idol Jan. 22 was Jim Carrey's daughter, Jane Erin Carrey, and not only does she have an amazing voice, she's super charismatic as well! Watch the audition to see the 24-year-old waitress and mom belt out "Something To Talk About." She's really good! "I like it. I liked the sound of your voice," Jennifer Lopez said. ‘American Idol’ Recap: David Leathers Jr. Will Win The Whole Thing

The 11th season of Idol began in Savannah and the city definitely produced a few memorable moments -- including David's audition.

American Idol returned in a big way. The season's first singer was 17-year-old David Leathers Jr., who blew the judges and me away! David admitted to Ryan Seacrest that he beat last year's winner Scotty McCreery in a singing competition, which had me worried that he was going to suck. But when he opened his mouth to sing, those worries fell away. His rendition of Century 21's "Remember the Rain" was perfection. I know he was the first to go, in the very first city -- but I wouldn't be surprised if young David, also known as Mr. Steal Yo Girl, won the whole competition. But of course, there is a lot of television to go and obviously anything can happen. My other favorite story was Amy Brumfield -- who revealed she lived in a tent with her boyfriend because they couldn't afford to live in a motel. Her voice was powerful and strong and I hope that we see more of her come Hollywood. Over the two hour premiere, we also met Shaun Kraisman -- a dead ringer
