I love the first two seasons of Weeds, but lately I feel as though I’ve been watching it out of a sense of devotion for bygone years. As the June 27 season 7 opener begins, Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) and her family’s exploits have grown more and more ludicrous — and it’s been hard to identify with a woman who can just sleep her way out of the most dire situation. Does anyone else remember when Weeds was just a sweet, innocent show about dealing pot in the suburbs?
